The Clear Hills Company are a family of beekeepers and they use their beeswax, honey, and propolis to create most of their natural products.
After hearing about still more recalls due to lead in our children's toys, and finding out that many of the pigments used in crayons and bath crayons contain lead and mercury, and other dangerous chemicals, the company did some research. They were able to find pigments made by a US company that are completely safe and non-toxic.
A staple in the Waldorf educational system, beeswax crayons are made with beeswax rather than paraffin and have the added bonus of blending more smoothly (like paints) than regular paraffin based crayons. They are completely non-toxic and made with natural pigments. The colours are slightly more muted than your typical crayons, and there is a gentle beeswax scent.
